Best Camera To Shoot Music Videos
What is the best camera to shoot music videos? Well, first off you would need to figure out your budget and quality you want in a camera.
When it comes to filming, especially with music videos. DSLR and mirrorless cameras would be your best bet.
You will want something that records in full HD. Preferably in 1080p or 4k resolution.
For me, I prefer something that films 1080p with at least 60fps.
The reason for this is, while in post-production and during the editing of your music video or film, you’ll want to set your timeline in 24fps and import video files recorded in 60fps.
This allows you to slow your video down by 40% without losing frames and thus, gets you that buttery slow motion look.
With music videos, a lot of times you’ll want that dramatic cinematic slow-motion look and having a camera that can film in 60fps is ideal.

GoPro Hero 6
Some people see a GoPro as just an action camera. It is way more than just that.
Not only does this shoot in 4k resolution, but it also shoots 1080p 240fps!
DSLR and mirrorless cameras in this price range won’t be able to do 1080 240fps.
Also because it’s so compact you can get really creative shots with it.
Such as pov shots etc.
Not to mention its completely waterproof right out, of the box.
Shooting in the rain or getting those underwater shots is no problem with the GoPro Hero 6.
The downfall to it is the inability to switch out lenses to get different focal point shots. However, with the proper settings, you can still get very cinematic shots with it.
It will shot in an ultra-wide angle focal point but you are able to set it to liner mode which will get a less wide angle look.
Also if you’re like me, you love to shoot in a flat profile and color grade your video in post-production.

Just like the SL2, it has a 24-megapixel image sensor capable of capturing amazing photography.
It’s not the best for sports since the autofocus isn’t as great as other cameras in our reviews.
Although The D5300 is a great DSLR for low light settings. Also due to the price and ability to swap out lenses unlike the GoPro hero 6 we feel
Canon EOS 80D
Focus with Precision. The Canon EOS 80D overall build quality is fantastic, and to me is the sweet spot size for DSLR’s.
The menu button isn’t too overloaded with options. but If you do shoot in manual mode you do get a lot more options to play around with.
The LCD Screen touch screen makes it easy when shooting videos with its fantastic autofocus. It’s a fairly larger screen which is nice.
Compared to something like the Sony A6300 and that is something worth having.
As for video to be fair, the canon 80d still lags behind other cameras as far as resolution goes.
Nowadays, there are a lot of budget-friendly cameras capable of shooting 4k which the Canon Eos 80d does not.
But one thing that really stuck out was the ability to pull focus on a subject extremely quickly.
The camera still shoots 1080p which still provides a nice quality shot.

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve if 1080p 60fps is good enough for you consider the Lumix g7. If you want creative pov shots to consider the GoPro hero 6 which shoots in 4k as well.
